Details of the Wedding Kits
Included in the box is a booklet on the techniques and benefits of family planning, along with a marriage registration form, condoms, oral contraceptives (OCPs), and emergency contraceptive pills (ECPs). Pregnancy test kit as well as a bridal care pack including but not limited to comb, bindi, nail clippers, mirror, tissue and towel.
Objectives of Odisha Nai Pahal Scheme
The “wedding package” is part of the National Health Mission’s (NHM) NaiPahal plan, which aims to raise awareness of the need for young couples to use both temporary and long-term family planning methods. Despite a low total fertility rate, Odisha is the first state to run the campaign, according to NHM State Mission Director Shalini Pandit (TFR). Responsibility for providing kits to newlywed couples has been delegated to the Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA). Procedure to get Wedding Kits Under Odisha Nai Pahal Scheme
Responsibility for giving wedding kits to newly wedded young couples has been delegated to Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA), and they are advised to createa proper kit to all the newlywedded couples and also to encourage them the use of family planning methods, and it is starting in the month of September, the ASHAs will visit all the newly wedded couples homes and will distribute the kit. In addition to training newlyweds in spacing and covering techniques, they will also closely monitor the effectiveness of the kit.
