NMMS Scholarship 2023
The NMMS scholarship 2023 a centrally sponsoredscheme, was introduced in May 2008. The scholarship goal is to provide scholarships to deserving students from economically disadvantaged areas in order to prevent their dropout from class VIII and encourage them to continue their education at the secondary level.Selected students are given a scholarship of Rs. 6000 a year or Rs. 500 per month to attend classes from IX to XII in State Government,Government-Aided and Local Body Schools.Scholarship quotas exist for several states and UTs.
Students may apply for the scholarships if their parent’s combined annual income is less than Rs.1,50,000.NMMS provides poor students with a scholarship worth INR 12,000 annually to encourage them to finish their secondary education.Nearly 100,000 scholarships are awarded to deserving students each year through the MCM scholarship,which becomes active in November.As per the rules of the State Government,there is reservation.The State Governments hold an exam to choose the students who will get the scholarships.The State Bank of India pays out scholarships every three months straight into students’ bank accounts.

In order to reduce the number of students dropping out of school after eighth grade,the NMMS Scholarship encourages gifted but underprivileged students to continue their secondary and upper secondary studies.To be eligible for this Scholarship, students in grades 9 through 12 must take two tiers of state-level selection exams.
Benefits for NMMS Scholarship 2023

- Every year, NMMS awards 100,000 scholarships to the chosen students at a cost of INR 12,000 per annually or INR 1,000 per month
- The State Bank of India SBI pays the scholarship money all at once under the National Means-Cum-Merit Scholarship
- Through the Public Financial Management System, the funds are directly put into the accounts of the students
- Based on the number of students enrolled in classes 7 and 8 and their population in each state, the amount of scholarships is distributed to each State and UT
- Class 9 students are given a one-time scholarship of INR 12,000 every year for the duration of the academic year.
- The scholarship is extended each year until the student completes Class 12 of the Higher Secondary level of study provided that they are consistently promoted into higher classes.
Eligibility Criteria
The Eligibility Criteria for for this portal is given below:
- Candidates for this MCM scholarship must be full-time students enrolled in class 9 after receiving a clear promotion from class 8 and possess a minimum GPA of 55% or above
- The candidates must be enrolled in government-sponsored,locally run or government-aided schools
- The candidate must achieve a minimum grade point average of 60% on the class 10 board test to continue receiving financial aid for further secondary school
- The scholarship recipient must successfully advance from class 11 on the first try with a score of 55% marks or equivalent in order to continue the scholarship in class 12.For pupils who fall within the SC/ST category,there is a 5% mark reduction
- The candidate’s yearly household income cannot exceed 1.5 lakh rupees
- Additionally,this MCM grant is not available to kids attending NVS,KVS,Sainik institutions or private schools.

- When a candidate registers on NSP,an application ID is produced for them
- This application ID serves as both a Login ID on NSP and a reference in the future.
- While candidates enrolled in classes 11 and 12 must apply under the Post Matric scholarship category, those enrolled in classes 9 and 10 must do so under the Pre-Matric scholarship category.
