- Mehbooba Mufti, the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, introduced the J&K Ladli Beti Scheme on 1 April 2015.
- From the date of the girl’s birth or the account’s starting date until the girl reaches the age of 14, the government will deposit Rs. 1,000 each month into the girl’s bank account under this scheme. Through DBT, the scheme’s funds will be transmitted immediately to the beneficiary’s account.
- The girl’s natural or legal carer needs to establish a recurring bank account for her.
- In phase 1, only the government’s monthly payment of Rs. 1000 should be permitted to be transferred into the account.
Eligibility Criteria
The Eligibility Criteria for this scheme is given below:
- The female child must reside permanently in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
- Girl children who apply and have a certificate of approval from the Child Development Project Officer CDPO of the designated Domiciliary District must have been born on or after 1 April 2015 Srinagar, Anantnag, Budgam, Jammu, Kathura, Pulwama, Samba, Kishtwar.
- The female child’s household income must be less than Rs. 75,000 per year.
