Students from Telangana who are in need of financial support may now apply for a new scholarship Ts ePass Scholarship made available by the state government.The full form of Ts ePass Telangana State Electronic Payment & Application System for Scholarships. Online applications are accepted for a wide range of scholarships by residents of the state. Around 13 to 14 lakh students who fall under the categories of scheduled caste, scheduled tribe or backward category are given the scholarship each year.
These include Pre Matric Scholarships, Post Matric Scholarships, Overseas Scholarship Services, Kalyan Lakshmi, Shadi Mubarak, Corporate Admissions and Skill Upgrading Services among others. - The state will pay up to 100 percent of the total tuition amount.
- The government will provide applicants who are paying their own way through school around 20,000 Indian Rupees or the real cost of the course whichever is lower.
Eligibility Criteria for theTs ePass Scholarship
The Eligibility Criteria for for this scheme is given below:
- The participant must be a resident of Telangana state.
- Applicants must fall into one of the following categories: SC, ST, BC, EBC or Minority.
- The annual family income cannot be more than Rs. 2 lakh for those who fall into the SC/ST category for those who fall into the BC/EBC category, the limit is Rs. 1.50 lakh in rural areas and Rs. 2 lakh in urban areas.
- Students who have a family income of one lakh rupees or less are eligible to apply as are students who have a physical disability.
- To be eligible for the scholarship applicants must have a minimum attendance rate of 75% in each quarter.
